Sonic hasn't interested me since his very 1st releases, I can't imagine an rpg based on him. Was it the Jpop style with grinding ala FF?

You could grind, but it wasn't necessary to do so.  Though the main issue you'll find is that the game is rather unbalanced in difficulty after certain parts...  Most of the time through the first four chapters, the enemies won't be a sweat if you're coordinated enough to understand how to successfully pull off a POW move.  You'll also need to learn how when enemies use their special attacks, or you're in for a world of hurt.  The most annoying part was when you had to work in teams with Tails(great...  Lost my best man...) and Robotnik(or Eggman for those that wish to defend his lame 'new' name) on the ground, and Sonic and Knuckles heading to Angel Island.(this isn't really a spoiler at all)  I can tell you it is annoying if you don't know the moves Sabotage and Bombardment with Robotnik and Tails...  As if the enemies aren't already hard enough...

Anyways, it's a bit weird, but the chat system works just like any others by Bioware.

My two fave DS games were always Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros.

I'm thinking Moon and the new Call of Duty... They both received 8.5 or higher... Anyone play them?

I've played the new CoD, but on the 360, but I would still recomend getting it for the DS, because FPSs on the DS canbe really fun

Moon is quite entertaining and very technically proficient with some of the smoothest graphics you've seen on the DS.  Though to be had, the game never truly pushes past the interesting marker.  You'll get more weapons and continue to look out for artifacts and weapon/health upgrades, though they could have worked on the story a bit more, as well as the enemy types.  Still a fun game nonetheless, but a little bare in the actual content.  Not sure about CoD on the DS.

if you're in the mood to do something different, GTA: Chinatown Wars got extremely high praise and everyone I know that played it actually found it quite addicting.  The new Zelda game is quite fun and really picks up on how to create dramatic cutscenes, the Phoenix Wright games(that I've recently gotten my hands on the first title) is actually rather fun if you don't mind something different.  I won't stop emphasizing the unique presentation that Rhythm Heaven produces, and Space Invaders Extreme is actually one of the weirdest, but funnest shooters I've seen to date since there's both background music and sound effect synchronization to make for a Rez-esque style music set-up.

Henry Hatsworth I've heard is quite a fun platforming/puzzle game, Professor Layton titles are quite fun, If you liked first Generation Sonic titles, Sonic Rush(Adventure included) is a very nice throwback of the original run right platformer with much more speed, If you were ever a fan of Phantasy Star Online, they ended up releasing Phantasy Star 0.  There's much more, though I'll just stop there for now.
